🚨 THIS IS FOR YOU IF:

  • You’ve been told you're “so close” but you never book.

  • You lose roles to singers with stronger, more powerful belts.

  • You feel stuck in the ensemble and want to be chosen to play the lead.

  • Your mix is solid, but your belt lacks fullness, richness, and depth.

You know you're meant for more — but your voice isn’t matching your ambition.

Belt to Broadway

1:1 Vocal Coaching Program for Performers

Imagine booking the Broadway show you’ve dreamed of—hearing your name called, stepping into the spotlight, and finally getting the recognition you’ve worked so hard for.

But first, your voice has to show up when it counts. No cracking. No doubt. Just power, freedom, and the confidence to own the room.

Here is my PROOF that you can belt high notes without pushing your voice.

You thought your belting was good until you realize this...

Currently, the only types of belting shown on stage are the pushy, shouty types of singing causing a lot of young performers (and old) to think that's popular. It's no wonder people are belting in a way that is causing more pain when it should feel really good!

How do we know it should feel good?

  • Belting channels real emotions into your singing 🎤❤️ (aka, your feelings get a mic drop moment)

  • When done right, it sounds strong and feels incredible 💥✨ (no more accidental squeaks or “uh-oh” moments)

  • Your voice and emotions come together perfectly 🎶🤝 (finally, a duet that actually works)

  • That mix of emotional release and physical power creates a true sense of freedom 🌟🔥 (like karaoke, but way cooler)

  • It’s more than just singing—it’s a deep connection you and your audience can feel 🎭🙌 (bonus: you might even get a standing ovation)

This is the technique that casting directors are looking for. Instead, they get:

- People who "think" they can belt, but they're just shouting

- People who audition with the same belty song and no one sounds original

- People who think LOUDER is better, when really, it's annoying

The KEY To Saving Your Voice

If I was on Broadway right now, and I am called to sing the lead role for 6 nights in a row, I want to be able to fully belt without getting hoarse the next day.

The number one reason why singers lose their voice after belting, is not because of the belt voice quality. It is because of the illusion that they don't need to manage their volume control at all since the sound person does all the work for you.

The secret to making sure you still bring out that emotional belt without hurting yourself the next day is to know when to be loud and when to be LESS LOUD!

How do you control that?

Depending on the song, the emotion, the note, and the vowel...the level of volume changes and there is a sweet spot for every single note you choose to belt on.

For instance, you can be at an Effort 6 for a really high note, but then adjust to an Effort 4 for the next note, depending on the interval and if the emotion calls for that reduction of volume.

The point is...we don't need to be at MAX VOLUME the entire time we belt. That is how you make sure you sound good without overdoing the voice.

Gabriella Moulin Rouge.png

When I first met Gabriella at our consultation call, she told me this was her dream show to be in and if she could get better at singing, it would give her the competitive edge.

The one song we worked on required a big belt at the end. She could have chosen not to belt the ending, and it still would've sounded nice. However, it didn't match the emotion and energy the song was asking for.

The highest note she needed to belt was an E5. At first it was intimidating, but we broke down the song, one section at a time, and slowly trained the voice to handle that note in chest voice mechanism.

On the day of the audition, she gave it her all and definitely belted the note that she thought was impossible at first. Then she booked!

Now, the belting wasn't the deciding factor for casting to choose her out of all the people auditioning. It was her confidence and knowledge of her own voice that made casting trust her to carry the show.

She didn't just learn how to belt for this big audition, she learned so much more about the vocal anatomy and how to use it efficiently without hurting herself.

The SCIENCE Behind Belting

Let's nerd out a bit

The reason why belting has a bad rep is because it is perceived to be something dangerous. However, it has been observed by Kenneth Bozeman that belting taps into the most instinctual part of our vocal muscle that has an acoustic quality called the "yell timbre", which is present in almost all belting when listening to Broadway or Pop songs.

What makes the yell timbre so important and why I establish this early with students is because it's a natural instinctual expression built in all human vocal anatomy. It is meant to express intense emotion that calls for attention.

I bring this type of training up because belting is unlike other singing techniques. It doesn't need a method, and it doesn't need a lifelong training experience. It can be produced instantly without damaging your voice.

How do singers sustain this type of muscle activity?

Once students develop this skill, the only focus is building vocal strength and endurance using my targeted warmups and conditioning exercises—this is the final step in the coaching program, designed to help you belt high notes confidently for the long haul.

So if you have been told that yelling is bad, it's no wonder belting has become so difficult for you. You are not allowing your body to do what is natural when the emotion calls for it.

With my guidance we can do it in a safe and healthy way.

The Belting Setup

What You’ll Learn (Backed by Vocal Science):

  • The Mechanism – Understand the vocal anatomy behind safe, powerful belting. The vocal folds have 5 layers and what we do to those layers determine the voice quality you can create and how high we can sing.

  • Acoustics – The way we hear the belt is the key to creating it. You’ll learn the specific acoustic adjustments (like vowel shaping and resonance) that make a belt sound powerful, clear, and effortless—so you can replicate it with precision every time you need it.

  • Breathing – Learn how to manage airflow and subglottic pressure for maximum control and power. Belting does not need a low deep breath. Using outdated breathing techniques from classical training does not work for belting!

  • Resonance– Master vowel shaping and formant alignment to amplify your sound without straining. Knowing how to send your sound forward will help your voice project properly.

  • Mix vs. True Belt – Learn the difference, when to use each, and how to transition seamlessly between them.

  • Vocal Load Management – Train smart to avoid fatigue and build long-term stamina like a vocal athlete. We will train on volume and compression control to reduce overworking the voice.

  • Real Tools, Not Myths – Ditch the imagery and guesswork. Learn using concrete techniques and evidence-based methods.

  • Repertoire Integration – Apply your skills directly to the material you actually perform—no more abstract exercises that wastes your time. Every technique is tied to real songs, real roles, and real audition pieces so you can feel the difference where it counts: on stage and in the room.

Without this belting setup, you are robbing the audience of an emotional experience in a song!

I've been teaching singers for over 5 years now, and the most common mistake I see in singers trying to belt for the first time is PUSHING.

If you were my student, and I saw that you were pushing I would tell you to control your volume, adjust the song’s key to a comfortable range, and stay relaxed—so you can sing higher without unnecessary tension.

Powerful vocals get attention. Honest acting gets the role.

Since I teach people how to sing for Broadway, of course I talk about auditions!

In auditions, it’s not just about how you sing—it’s about what you bring to the moment. That’s why I teach belting technique and acting integration hand-in-hand.

You’ll learn how to:
🎤 Deliver high notes with emotional clarity and vocal confidence
🎭 Connect your breath and body to the character’s objective
🎬 Transform a 16-bar cut into a fully realized performance
💥 Walk into auditions with the presence of someone who books

Because your voice isn’t just a sound—it’s a story. And casting directors want to hear both.

What you are witnessing here with the spectrogram is how the upper harmonic of my voice is enhanced when I sing in a true belt voice.

To be more specific, when you sing with good closure you produce overtones. Once you have those overtones, you can now add twang to highlight those overtones giving your voice more energy without the need to push your efforts.

Again, I am constantly making sure you sound powerful without the need to push your voice.

There are many different ways to access your twang muscle. Playing around with different sounds is how we bring this to your belt voice quality. Not every sound we make will be pretty, but we are tapping into a more natural approach to deliver an emotional vocal technique. With my guidance, you'll be belting those high notes that will make the audience cry in no time!

TESTIMONIALS

"As an actor first, I always go into musical theatre auditions hoping that casting will just watch me and not listen to me during vocal auditions. The reason why I started voice training was because I wanted to be able to get past those auditions and get called back or

even push through to the dance call auditions. Since taking Tina’s lessons, I have been able to walk into vocal auditions with more confidence and preparedness with song choices and vocal technique. What I enjoy about taking voice lessons is knowing someone is on your side to cheer you on, prepare you for the musical theatre world, help you where you need help, and converse with a professional who understands the performer’s perspective on everyday life and career drive."

"My daughter loves musicals and acting but I’ll just say that singing was not her strong suit. After she got a lead role in her school theater production, I decided to get her singing lessons and 2 months into her lessons there is such a remarkable difference in her singing. My daughter can hold notes longer, has increased her range, hit higher notes, and it has helped her recognize staying on key. She has overall improved dramatically. My daughter loves Miss Tina and she loves the way she teaches. She appreciates her honesty and encouragement. My daughter has learned breathing techniques, compression, and the importance of body language while singing. Miss Tina has an impressive background and is so knowledgeable in her craft. My daughter and I are so grateful for all the skills she has learned. I would highly recommend using Miss Tina for vocal lessons. This has been an awesome and inspiring experience!"

"My favorite part about our lessons is that we have fun and it makes me feel more comfortable, helping with my fear of singing in front of others and general social anxiety. Through the lessons, we have been able to strengthen my voice and reclaim a bit of my range, as well as increase flexibility and bring attention to other physical factors that have been affecting the way I sing. I would recommend Tina to anyone interested in singing confidently, whether it be a new skill you want to explore or one you would like to reclaim."

I have already seen a huge improvement in the way that I sing utilizing the different registers I've learned by taking lessons with Tina. I appreciate the added value Tina provided by supplying me with vocal exercise recordings to practice during the week in between my scheduled lessons. I would recommend Tina to people of all talent levels who want to sing better and strengthen their voice. She is a true professional with a passion for vocals!"
